Located in the historic Westcott Community Center, a landmark brick firehouse on the corner of Euclid Ave and Westcott St, the WCAG has played an important role in supporting local community arts as an Arts and Culture venue in Syracuse, New York since 2003. Our mission is to support local community arts by providing a venue for emerging, student, and youth artists to exhibit and make their work available to the public.
The intimate dual space in this gallery provides a unique experience for visitors with exhibitions that could not have been carried out in some larger spaces. Exhibitions organized at the WCAG have encompassed all the visual arts: painting, sculpture, drawing and printmaking, photography, architecture and decorative arts, video, film, installation artwork and performance.
Westcott Community Art Gallery is a proud member of Th3, Syracuse’s City Wide Art Open. Th3 takes place on the third Thursday of each month, and participating venues are open from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm free of charge. For more information, check out Th3′s website.
